Hi everyone!
I have just started to train for a full marathon (race day is 21-10-07)!!!
I initially was going to train for a marathon by myself; however, I received a pamphlet about the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's "Team In Training" So I figured since I already wanted to run a marathon why not do it for a better reason than personal fitness?!
Please check out my site for more info: www.active.com/donate/tntvan/kirsten
More about myself: I am in the nutrition field and love it. Though sometimes I ramble on way too much about proper eating habits, haha.
I'm more happy with my body now than I ever have been before (even though I've gained some weight) so I think that's the most important; however, I won't complain if the rest of the weight I want to lose leaves ;)
My main motivations for keeping an active and healthy lifestyle are because I am super competitive and love to exercise and also I know so much about health issues in which many of these can be warded off by positive lifestyle habits. I also ENJOY my workout sessions (even the very hard ones!) I find it's fabulous stress relief and I can easily set goals, see progress, etc. I thrive on competition, even if it's with myself.
Other activities I enjoy besides running are: olympic diving, olympic weightlifting, pilates, yoga, swimming, skiing, hiking/backpacking, etc.
If you have any questions please send me a message!
